Fried Eye says– Travelling in style involves a lot of fashion sense. After the travel and gadgets, it is only natural that we smoothly proceed on to an article about the summer fashion scene this year. Fashionista Vinita D Behl gives us an overview about the Fashion scene this summer and monsoon.

Women will be celebrating this summers and monsoons with the latest trend in fabrics which draws its latest inspiration from the woman’s figure. We will be seeing a lot of sensual and sophisticated silhouettes which exude femininity.

The season will see a combination of fabrics with emphasis on sheer and transparent materials to create a sensual silhouette.

Funky mix

Silk spaghetti tops, sheer tops, maxi dresses which experiment with denims and cottons are being spotted on the streets. Kaftan dresses are also being seen to be quite a hit with the crowd as they not just look good but also are very comfortable when it gets sweaty and hot. Lace

Lace is one of the most popular fabric for this season.  It’s romantic, feminine and versatile.  Lace skirts and lace dresses should be a wardrobe staple for everyone as it lends sometimes an air of mystique charm while at other times a mischievous girl next door look.

 Embroidery

Embroidered cotton outfits spell sophistication.  It’s perfect for the Indian summers.

The very old Lucknowi chikan kurtis which come in subtle colors like pinks, off-whites, beige, olive, green, lemony yellow look very chic and are comfortable as well as, they come in all materials like cotton to let your skin breathe and chiffon which is all airy and light. They can be worn with cotton knee length skirts or with denim shorts or khaki pants. For the bolder lots it can be worn with bikini tops underneath in bright colors.

Tops and Kurtis

Also doing the rounds on the fashion streets are the cotton tops which are short and non-body-hugging with noodle or spaghetti straps. For the ones who are on the bulkier side, long loose tops are available which are stylish as well as comfortable. They come in bold colors like vibrant pink, striking yellow and greens. High on the comfort quotient, they are wearable by all body shapes and structure.

Cotton Kurtis with halter necks, or tie around the neck can be worn with cotton or hosiery churidaars in contrasting colors. The latest which was noticed was kurtis with smocking to give you the extra nice and sexy fitting.

Nice cotton Anarkali style (with lots of flare) long kurti can be teamed with different style and type of churidaars like hosiery for comfort or the shiny variety in lycra to convert the same outfit into a party wear.

 

Denim

Denim is the most versatile and classic fabric that never goes out of style.  Designers reinvent this fabric to match it for the season’s trend. We will be seeing softer textures and in combination with other fabrics, Example of which is the denim dress with patch work shown at the beginning of the article. Denim tops, skirts and dresses otherwise comes in many style and structure.

Skirts and dresses will come with shorter or mid calf lengths. They will be seen with embellishments or other eye catching adornments.

With so many colors, comfort and style in your wardrobe for this season, there is hardly any chance of you going wrong. Some of the styles and fabric like lace, cotton embroidery are universal in appeal and hardly go out of style and can be used the next year too.
